Lima Senior's Anton Hutchinson throws down 2 of his game high 29 points in the Spartans 57-49 win over Mansfield Senior. ..

After dropping Lima Senior at their place 68-65 back in December, it would be the Spartans who would have the last laugh, as they took down top-seeded Mansfield Senior 57-49, to win the district crown.

Saying Senior High got off to a "bad start" would be an understatement. The Spartans led 10-0 at the 5:53 mark of the first quarter before Mansfield Senior even got a shot to the rim. 3 Tygers turnovers and a 4-4 start from the floor for Lima Senior started what would become a 17-4 Spartan lead after one quarter of play. But Senior High would buckle down in the 2nd stanza, holding the Spartans to just 5 points in the quarter and cutting the lead to 8, 22-14, heading into recess. The 3rd quarter had more action than a Van Damme movie with both teams going back and forth throughout, scoring 42 combined points. Senior High would actually tie things up at 43 all with 6 minutes and change to play and seemed to have all the momentum heading into the final stretch. But Lima Senior's Anton Hutchins put the weight of the world on his shoulders and almost single-handedly put the Tygers away as he scored a game-high 29 points, that included an answer for just about every Tyger basket down the stretch. Senior High would cut the lead to a single posession deficit several times in the final quarter, but Hutchins and the Spartans would never let them get a taste of the lead. To go along with his 29 points, Anton Hutchins also had 8 rebounds to lead Lima Senior. Darrin Harris had a team-high 18 points for the Tygers, Jalen Watts was next with 16.

Mansfield Senior closes the season as district runners-up with a final record of 21-2. Jalen Watts, Darrin Harris, Jamarkus O'Neal and Don White Jr played their last games in a Tyger uniform.
