Kenneth L. Franks, 74, of Galion, died Tuesday, Mar. 9, 2010 at home.

Born June 18, 1935 in Marengo, he was the son of the late Howard P. Franks and Mabel L. (Dodd) Franks. He is survived by his longtime companion, Margie M. Orten whom he has been with since 1986.

Ken worked at the former American Steel Grave Vault Company in Galion for 24 years where he was a painter. He loved fishing and eating fish. He enjoyed mowing, was good natured and loved children and animals. He liked watching sports on television especially ice skating and the Benny Hill Show.

He is survived by three sisters and one brother-in-law, M. Josephine Short of Cardington, Betty and Jim Welch of Mt. Gilead and Helen Stout of Lebanon, Mo.; one brother and sister-in-law,
Raymond and Joyce Franks of Marengo; a half-sister, Patty (Steve) Smith of Galion and a half-brother, Roger Franks of Mt. Gilead.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Isabelle Brucker and Geneva Knapp.

Friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday, Mar. 12, 2010 at Richardson-Davis Funeral Home where services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Mar. 12, with Hospice Chaplain Jed Brake officiating.
