Hazel Ruth (Oswalt) Blair, 107, passed away at the Winchester Terrace Nursing Home, Mansfield, Ohio on Thursday, March 11, 2010.

 

She was born February 16, 1903 in Perrysville, Ohio to Ica Cates Oswalt and Willard Oswalt.

She graduated from Perrysville High School and Wooster Business College. In addition to being a homemaker, Hazel was employed as a secretary in the Mansfield Area.

 

Hazel is survived by her daughter Wanda J. Hershey of Mansfield and daughter-in-law Carol Blair of Ontario; granddaughters Karen (David) Whitfield of Val Rico, Florida, Kathy (Kenneth) Bohland and Karla (David) Nikolaus of Mansfield, Lori (Timothy) Long of Lexington, and Amanda (Michael) Bays of Lucas.  Hazel has twelve great grandchildren and twelve great-great grandchildren.

 

In addition to her parents, Hazel was preceded in death by her husband Russell in 1993 whom she married on Dec. 31, 1926; son Eldon Blair, son-in-law Carl Hershey and five brothers.

 

Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 16, 2010 at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Road, Mansfield, OH conducted by Pastor Paul Lintern. Friends may call one hour prior to the service, from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m., at the funeral home on Tuesday.  Interment will follow in Bunker Hill Cemetery, Butler, Ohio.  For online guest registry click on above logo.
