MANSFIELD: Louis David Miller, age 87, of Mansfield, passed away Friday afternoon July 23, 2010 in his home surrounded by his loving family.

          Louis was born June 14, 1923 in Athens, Ohio to William and Emma (Teeters) Miller.

          A WWII Army veteran, Louis was stationed in the Asiatic-Pacific Theater, specifically New Guinea, and Southern Philippines.

          On August 29, 1946 he married Mildred Springston.

          A hard worker, Louis retired from Westinghouse.  In his younger years Louis enjoyed fishing.

          He is survived by his wife Mildred Miller of Mansfield, son Larry (Archalene) Miller of Johnsville; daughter-in-law Sadie Miller of Lexington; grandchildren and their spouses- including a special grandson with whom he shared a close friendship- Dave and his wife Lisa, Angela, Katherine, Dustin, John, Philip, Gary, Doug, Kirstie and Eric; great grandchildren and their spouses Ashley, Johnathon, Derrick, Trinity, Emily, Macy, Margerie, Gary, Jr., David and Dustee, Cory, Dusty and Samatha, Erica, and Diana; great great-granddaughters JulieAnna and Kristie.

          Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his loving son, David Miller, brothers Clifford and Clarence Smith and Freeman Teeters and sisters Blanch, Mary, and Anna Smith.

          The Miller family will receive friends on Monday July 26, 2010 from 11am-12pm noon at the Lexington Avenue Snyder Funeral Home.  Funeral services will begin at 12pm noon.  The Rev. Ken Kinley will officiate.  Burial with Military Honors performed by the Richland County Joint Veterans Burial Detail will follow in Oak Grove Memorial Park.
